[ Effectively fighting acne - after the summer months ]
What is acne and what causes acne?
Dermatologist: Acne, an inflammation of the skin is characterized
by black-heads, white-heads, redness and nodules, commonly known as pimples.
An overproduction of sebum causes acne. Acne is often linked to changes
that occur during adolescence. Interestingly... one out of two women has
oily or blemished skin!
What kind of cosmetics and cleansers can an acne patient use?
Dermatologist: Look for "non-comedogenic" cosmetics and toiletries.
These products have been formulated so that they will not cause or aggravate
acne. Avoid occlusive foundations that can exacerbate blemishes by clogging
pores. Make sure you always use mild acne products made with a physiological
ph formula in order to eliminate impurities without mistreating your skin.
Proper hydration is also crucial and not to be neglected. Oily skin does
not produce excess water, but excess sebum. Consequently, oily skin can
suffer from dehydration and it is therefore necessary to ensure proper and
